World Neverland: The Olerud Kingdom Stories.

Originally released for the PlayStation in 1997, World Neverland: The Olerud Kingdom Stories is the first entry in the long-running World Neverland life simulation series. Nekologic was tasked with modernising the title for contemporary Windows systems, ensuring compatibility with modern hardware and operating systems while preserving the original gameplay experience.

The project involved a substantial restructuring of the codebase, extensive bug fixing, and the migration of the rendering pipeline from DirectX 6-era technology to DirectX 9. We also introduced support for modern display resolutions, fullscreen operation, and a range of quality-of-life improvements designed to bring the experience in line with modern player expectations.

In addition to the technical modernisation work, the user interface and screen flow were reworked to provide a smoother and more intuitive experience, resulting in a significantly more stable and accessible version of this classic title for modern audiences.
